Indie Game: The Movie (Now on Netflix)

So just watched Indie Game on Netflix. It follows the development of Super Meat Boy and Fez over the period of years while going back to Braid’s creator. They really under represent the coding aspect of the process, in my opinion, since the artist for SMB gets all the face time and the programmer is a background character. Still, it’s good to see a movie about game design.

But man, if you ever want to have a movie knock all the wind out of your sales it’s this one.
Anyone else see it?

If ya noticed, what little they showed of the programmer from SMB (Tommy Refenes), he seems painfully boring and unexcited about the whole thing. Even when they realized the game was a hit, he was like, “yeah… cool…” Can’t say I blame them for focusing on Ed.

Yeah, that’s true. I wonder if the poor guy suffers from dysthymia or depression.

That movie motivates me.

I agree. It motivated me to try harder.
Though it feels like the odds of becoming a professional athlete are higher than becoming a profitable Indie Game Developer.

The movie motivated me and made me feel I have been wasting my life. I have slowly started making more time for coding/dev.
