An other article about this:

Nintendo is working on a new DS machine. Sony is working on a new PSP and Apple is also pushing its mobile devices too.
People loves the iPhone/iPod, but they miss real buttons and analog sticks, is time for Apple, to really crunch competitors by bringing down new controls. Am a bit sick of touching the screen. ^^
What’s really needed other than an external dock and yet another battery, is some sort of tactile feedback mechanism for touch screens.
It wouldn’t have to be as overt as the old-style IBM keyboards with a loud click that emulated the selectric typewriters. Something ever so slight would be enough information for the brain to process and give the illusion of an physical control.
How that can be accomplished I haven’t a clue. Some sort of coarse resolution piezo based mesh under the screen perhaps?
