idk i just wanna throw this out there in the world, I needed this, I made it, you can have it too lol
its a shader made with amplify,
allows to vertex color onto Probuilder geometry, with Probuilder’s vertex color tool
and it height blends the textures
and it has parallax
and it supports PBR … like good enough i guess

LeetSplat Shader
4 texture PBR splatmapping, intended for use with ProBuilder’s Vertex painter,
but any solution to put vertex color data onto meshes should work… i think…
made in Amplify Shader Editor.
there is multiple shaders, the mose Leet one is
LeetSplat_4colorME
the others are mostly to be more processing efficient when less textures are needed.
VERTEX COLORING
Black is a texture
Red is a texture
Green is a texture
Blue is a texture
Alpha is a Metallic / Emissive channel
textures are packed into channels
texture sample 1 is Albedo
texture sample 2 is SNO
texture sample 3 is ME
SNO
Red = Smoothness
Green = Normal
Blue = Occlusion ( AO )
Alpha = Normal
ME
Red = Metallic
Green = Emissive
i used “Channel Mixer” on Unity asset store to mix my textures into the correct channels

you just pick Black, Red, Green Blue and paint
Vertex Painter in Probuilder
iam using Probuilder geometry … but i thiink it should work with any geometry and any vertex painter solution.
it could be better too, but it works.
