Minions of Steel is now using Unity!

The MOS team is a small group of developers building an RTS/FPS. We have some - different - ideas about how to implement this rare combination.

We have the Wartach -

The Wartach is modeled after a tachometer in a vehicle. The more the accelerator is pressed, the more exciting things get. The Wartach counts how many shots are fired on the game map. The more shots, the more intense the music is and the more the indicator moves towards the red.

The top number is the total number of “Warpoints” you have earned in combat. Warpoints are used to buy upgrades in the game. The bottom left number are your minions. The bottom right number is how many total minions are on the map.Those numbers tick down as the battle intensifies. Don’t let yours go to “0”!

We have the Operations Editor (OpEd) -

The Operations Editor, or OpEd for short, will be where you setup all your minions and weapons for MOS. Each minion has a set of behaviors that need to be assigned to them. You will want to adjust the behaviors for each minion according to how you want them to respond in battle.

  • Build, save and load armies via the Operations Editor (OpEd)
  • Enhancement system (temporary enhancements for minions)
  • Power-up system (temporary enhancements for player bases)
  • Upgrade/Abilities systems (permanent upgrades to all minions and bases)

Multiplayer

  • Player Lobby
  • 8 Teams max per map
  • One GENEI (or RTS commander) and up to 7 FPS pilots per team

Game play is coming along. We’ll have some videos pretty soon of in game play. We are adding some FX and sound along with a lot of UI work this week. Still quite a bit to do…

Looks pretty cool. I liked the rpg view better and am unsure why you would want to go into fps mode. Also in the video FPS mode felt like it was in slow mo a bit to me.

Raider - MOS is a co-op multiplayer strategy game where your friends can take over your RTS minions in FPS mode. You can command the rest of the minions ala RTS style, while your friends run raids and attacks in available minions. The RTS commander can also jump in a minion in FPS mode if they want too.

Wow so cool! What Cheburek said, but fuck yeah! I love RTS/FPS games! Wish there were more of them. I wish they made a C&C game like it :stuck_out_tongue: I would love to run through a building as a little soldier man or drive through wrecking havoc as a tank, or taking to the skies in one of those badass planes haha

LOL - You can dodge bullets but not in slow motion. :slight_smile:

We are working on Minion sets so players can trade and collect them.
