We’re working on porting Monstar Driver to Android device(s)!

you should post a video!

@Darkhazard - here’s our teaser trailer. I have some gameplay footage I am putting together. With AR it’s hard to experience it through a video. It has to be experienced through ones own eyes or perspective. Thanks for the tip! I hope you enjoy the video. If you don’t mind leaving a comment and or liking it if you do. It’s all in the process of improving upon a product.
Thanks!

What is the AR part of the game? Edit: okay I see the stool in the background now! Does it affect gameplay?

I’m assuming you figured it out based on your reply. I was testing it in low lighting to see how we’ll the AR would perform. It’s very much an Augmented reality game. That’s the AR part by the way. No, objects in the real world does not affect game play. In fact it adds to the environment. The only rule is, you can never obscure the AR Marker. I hope I’ve answered you’re question.

Hello and gongrats on releasing your first AR game. I hope it does well.

The teaser was a little bit boring and lengthy and it did not tease me at all. It took about 16 seconds to show the studio name and present that this is an augmented reality experience. Then it took 4 extra seconds to actually show nothing. Most gamers (especially the ones who do not know what augmented reality is) would have closed the video within the first 10 seconds.

I suggest to start with the bang. Use these first 10 seconds to quickly show the game name and then jump to a gameplay video where the car is flying trough the chopper. I know it can be pain to film an augmented reality experience, but it can be done. Then you can add those “insane challenges”, “feel the rush” "epic ar gaming"and other marketing slogans into the teaser. Mix them up with interesting gameplay videos. Show them funny crashes, car falling off the table or other insane stuff that can be done in the game.

Best of luck to you

Thank you for the feedback. Good points made. A lot of the focus went into making the game and making the AR stable. We’ll have some cool gameplay montage uploaded to our new site which is being updated right now. It’s tough to pull it all together with only two people, but it is very much doable.

We just focused more on making a cool AR game. As we grow or figure out the various ways of executing the various components from game to marketing it will only get better. Thanks again and we hope you enjoyed the game. More to come on Monstar Driver.

Best

Andre
