I am looking for a new monitor.
What kind of monitor goes well with game development in Unity?
Maybe an Eizo Color Edge monitor?
Or a good gaming monitor?
What resolution should it have?
Thanks for your thoughts guys.

I would choose a monitor with high resolution, maybe 4k… so you have plenty of workspace. If you are just developing on this monitor you don’t need a high end gaming monitor.
Something expensive like a Eizo Color Edge makes only sense when you are a graphic designer or something like that and you really need the correct representation of colors.
I currently have a 2 monitor setup.(2x 1080x1920)
When I bought the new one, I will test out wether I will use 3 or 2 monitors.
So a 4k seems not neccesary to me. Maybe a WQHD resolution would be a smart choice?
I plan to dive into Lighting in Unity. Would it be important to have a correct rep. of colors for that?
Thanks for your help.
What about HDR?
Would that be wasted money or a reasonable choice?
(for lighting in Unity)
Pick your maximum price and select the monitor with the lowest latency and largest size you can afford with a minimum res of 2440p. 4K is by no means mandatory, and should be avoided if its response time or refresh is bad. 1080p is useless, aim for more than that in this day and age.
U meant to write 1440p right?
Why is response time and refresh rate important for Unity development?
Why is response time and refresh rate important for Unity development?
Or is it anyway?
Same reason it’s important for gaming. High response times causes a blurring or ghosting effect for any object moving on the screen. You’re unlikely to run into a high response time monitor, with the bulk of IPS-based monitors now being in the 5 to 6 millisecond range, but there are a few on the market that have high numbers and you want to avoid them.
Hello, wanna ask. Looking for a 24inch monitor at IPS. Looked for popular models and in most part they all same. usually, they have 60 Hz but some models 75 Hz. I’m wanna know if there is a difference or if it will just be an overpayment for “air”?
