Nintendo did it again

speaks very silently

But what about windows 10 mobile… I want to slide down walls, and on my butt, too… :frowning:

I’ve just tried Super Mario Run and is really nice to play. It’s going to be a very popular game and It’s going to make a lot of money for Nintendo!

Nintedo switch is only going to at 40% when not docked, what do you guys think?

I think that it’s too early to really think about it, when all we have are rumors.

I think many here should come to terms with what the Switch is really going to be: a suped up 3DS, not a portable Playstation4.

Even if the SoC is powered down in portable mode, those games will look fantastic on the 720p screen with the power of the X1 SoC FOR A HANDHELD GAME.
Its going to look okay on the big screen upscaled to 1080p.

We should neither expect 1080p/60Hz graphics, nor a console capable of competing with even the XBOX One in terms of graphical or CPU power. Not gonna happen, not with a mobile SoC, and especially not now that rumours are floating around that Nintendo might be using the same old X1, or a custom chip with still old generation tech in it (not that pascal would have made such a big difference).

In short: So what? Its going to be a) a pain to port games over from more powerful systems anyway because of the hardware differences, b) its going to be in a class of its own anyway (and I am sure Nintendo will concentrate on the “Portable device that can be docked” angle quickly instead of the “TV console you can take with you” angle as soon as the true power of the console or lack thereof becomes clear), c) at least the titles developed for this console will be optimized for it and thus run just fine.

I still have my concern about the attractivity of this console for porting over titles from the other consoles and PC. But then, maybe devs will rather port 3DS and mobile titles over, and that might work out just fine. Maybe the less taxing Indie console titles will work just fine on the hardware, and porting itself might be not as hard this time around.
Maybe the console will have a big enough rooster of games thanks to that even without the latest AAA graphics fest being squeezed into its small RAM and anemic SoC. Nintendo might be fine this time around, IDK. I hope against my better judgement it is, as I love their firstparty stuff… just give me a Mario Kart with Battle mode again, playable in 4 player splitscreen, and you get my money, Nintendo!

I think they should come out external battery pack and water cooling attachment… for maximum overclock :stuck_out_tongue: … all the cool kids will want to do it right?

Something tells me this is BS considering we don’t even know the actual specs of the system yet.

That’s okay since everyone is used to the PlayStation and Xbox games only being 720p@30Hz. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s the ratio of 720p (switch’s screen) to 1080p (tv’s screen)

Also longer battery life!

And I’m more interested in how the cpu compare to other’s, gameplay is on cpu not gpu

true dat. I am just amazed how people expect a powerhouse from a new console when time and time again, we find out that you get for 300-400$ exactly what you can expect for that price: a good entry level gaming system, not more.
