Please read this and don't update to 2018.3.0f2 now

Hi everyone !

*** If your game are using 2018.2.20f1 version or below, Please don’t update Unity to 2018.3.0f2 version !

Because after import all prefabs, or all references will be break, any thing ! Unity editor will be crash after play game. My company using 2018.2.20f1 version, all are working fine, but when update to 2018.3.0f2, all prefabs or scene game objects was broken.
Please don’t use this version, its very very dangerous !

WTF ! 30GB of my company’s project was broken, and have to backward to 2018.2.20f1 version. What happen with you, Unity developers ? Or you want to kill other game companies ?

[Request] If this version have problems, please remove this version from Unity3d.com !

Did not you use git while developing? You can always reverse all changes… cannot we download old version of Unity after update? I personally found new prefab editor a bit buggy but there rest seems to be working (I am actively using prefabs)

IMPORTANT: there is serious issue with 2018.3!!! Parent canvas is scaled and there is no way to get actual size (all possible scale properties keep giving 1, while it’s 0.3 in player). I had this issue with old version but that time I fixed it by added empty wrapper, in this version this patch does not work any more. Downgrading back to 2018.2!!! or even 2018.1

Of course, we are using git and cache server.
When update to 2018.3.0f2, all prefabs is broken, and could not using it again. We can not fixed that bugs. I can’t believe that Unity summit this version while don’t test update from the older versions.

Obviously using beta/preview in production …

@CoderPro I managed to downgrade and discard all changes but I still did some progress during those 24 hours and I have to apply them manually. It’s good idea to have another OS for testing purposes but there is much simpler solution NEVER EVER upgrade if you are happy with what you currently have =)

@Antypodish I personally discard last two updates until finally I was attracted by new prefab editor. I made research and I find out that it was introduced more than half year ago! I was expecting that 6 months is more than enough to fix all major bugs… apparently I was wrong =)

What do you suggest @Antypodish ? Never update or use update for new projects?(usually developer do one or two projects per year max).

BTW there is another issue… new prefab editor not always correctly identify when its components are changed. First I thought it was component’s issue but finally, when I unchecked auto save, I noticed that even after I changed something, that button is still disabled, so I had to disable/enable any component to tell prefab editor that prefab was changed and I need to save it. I have no idea why I cannot save prefab whenever I want with ctrl+s… even if it was saved just a sec ago.

Locked. If you have a problem which you consider unstable or buggy, please use bug reporter. There is no actionable data from these posts.
