Project Zephyr - NOW: new screenshot SOON: gameplay demo

Hello everyone
First some words about myself. I’m really new to Unity3D and this is my first project with it but I had some expiriences in programming and 3D animation (mainly Cinema 4D and 3dsmax) before. This I think helps a lot - beside all the great tutorials  - in creating a nice game. In this case a first person shooter. Altough the word “shooter” isn’t that exactly. Sure, you will have to shot here and there but that isn’t the main aspect of the game. There will also be roleplay elements and a focus on the storyline. You will get some more informations on that soon

Meanwhile you can have a look at some early screenshots that demonstrate a little how the game will look like. For now there isn’t much gameplay you just can walk around the scene.

There are some models (like the bridge) from tutorials but they are just to see how it looks and will be replaced with own models.

Screenshot #1:

A little street and a train station on the right.

Screenshot #2:

Closer to the train station and the parking lot in front of it.

Screenshot #3:

The street from an different angle:

Screenshot #4:

A car on an unusual (and not recommended) parking location  There are caustics and many particle system eg. for the bubbles, the ground “dust” and so on to make it look more naturally.

Screenshot #5:

Well, the bridge with a little river beneath it.

That was it for now, comments and critics are welcome

Oh, and sorry for any spelling mistakes, english isn’t my native language

Looks fantastic so far, how soon will you be posting gameplay footage?

The graphics are fantastic. I hope the gameplay is as good as the way it looks. I’m also looking forward to seeing some gameplay footage whenever you have it ready.

V.nice graphics!

Cant wait for this to come out

Although it’s stunning, graphics don’t make a good game. Just look at the Madden series.

The city looks awesome.
Actually I’d love to visit and walk through such levels, even without beeing able to shoot. Just for graphic enjoynment. (Waiting for webplayer version ;-))

Wow, that’s a really crisp clean style you’ve got to your world! Nice stuff!

Very nice looking city. Just wondering what program you use for the levels.

but overall it looks really good

First of all, thanks every one for the comments

I use Cinema 4D for most of the objects. The rest was just the default Terrain that comes with Unity3D (plus the terrain assets pack from the site for the trees).

Yes, I have the same opinion. Graphics aren’t the most important factor in games but (because of my experience in 3d modelling software and filmmaking) it was easier for my to start with that. But I’m still learning …

UPDATES:

Currently I’m working on the first gameplay elements and a “playground” level where you can test everything out
