Hey dear people.
I just started my second Unity project called Sector 3. What it is all about will still be a secret, but it will be a FPS horror game. I just started modelling the first few simple things in Max, so there isn’t much to show yet. Progress will also not be very fast, but I will try to update from time to time.
My pipeline and goal with games like these is to let the player ‘believe’ he is in the location I built. It must feel very real. I am doing this by enhancing the level until it is perfectly balanced with sounds,music,ambience,lighting and weather. In my opinion, this is one of the most important things when it comes to gameplay.
I am an experienced 3dsmax and Vray user, but I am no programmer at all. The few things I have programmed in Unity are probably very simple for the most of you guys, but I am very new at Unity. Getting the mood and the life into a level in Unity, is my thing. What I love about Unity is the fact that ‘what you see is what you get’ really works here. Lights,sounds,shaders.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. Her’s an image for ya. This will probably be part of the main menu.
In the near few weeks, I will probably go and gather scripts from you guys who are willing to help me with the programming. It will be pretty basic and I am willing to learn. Think about buttons to activate lights, simply triggers with sound, how to start an animation and how to let stuff happen. Very basic stuff!
