We, at Recoil Games, a game studio located in Helsinki, Finland, got the privilege to share Unity booth at the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco last week. We were demonstrating a tech-demo of our first Unity title: “Rochard” running on PS3. We received a very warm feedback so we are very excited to share what we have been up to with you too, who may not have had the chance to be at the GDC.
Rochard is a space-mining action adventure game, it combines shooting, platforming and puzzle-solving and the gameplay mostly consists of messing around with gravity.
And for those who want to see more there are also gameplay videos:
The game was developed within one and a half year with a team of about 17 people. We are published by Sony Online Entertainment and the game will be out on PSN during Spring 2011. http://www.rochardthegame.com/
Wow this is really cool. You guys have done some great work! It’s also extremely exciting to see a PS3 example of Unity running. Amazing, pass on the kudos to your team, they deserve it.
Looking very good! congratulations with this nice project!
i wonder how ‘easy’ it is to export this for PC, or would that involve allot of work? proberly there is some diffence in the input, but further i think it should be possible to generate a pc very easy (not that you have to do that, but i was more wondering how easy it would be)
this game is published by sony for the ps3. So i think they are under contract of sony and cant just publish this game for pc or xbox360 (microsoft) that easily
Really superb work guys! The visuals are excellent and the gameplay looks really fun! I don’t have a PS3 but if you ever can make a PC version I’d definitely buy it. It looks like the type of game I’d really enjoy! It’s fantastic to see something like this turned out with Unity.
