Search index performance on asset selection

Hey,
I like the search function.
Yet it’s really irritating when you are supposed to pick 100 sprites for items and every time you have to experience this performance/lag.

I’m attaching a gif below recorded in 30 fps of clicking sprite selection.
The one Loop of the gif shows TWO subsequent sprite selection clicks.

  1. The window turns white on start?
  2. On the gif I constantly try to scroll and only after a few sec it stops lagging.
  3. The items are also loaded in a reverse order to the starting scrollbar.

This problem exists for a long time, even before U6. So finally bringing it to the attention myself at least.
In that time I have done index rebuilding, looking for jesus, library folder clear, changing versions.

Is there any other way to get rid of this or any timeline for improvement?

Hi! Thanks for reporting this issue. We are aware of the many slowdowns the window can have when there are a lot of items displayed. We are currently focusing on performance improvements and hopefully can address this issue.

For your ordering issue, since you are in a picker items should be sorted by their names. But it seems to be broken, so we will investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience.
