Space Tutorials/Tips Tricks

I’ve noticed recently that a lot of people are asking for a Space Sim tutorial. I’ve looked all over the internet for one myself and could not find one. So if anybody has any tutorials or any tips and tricks to give, post it here so people can come here to reference.

Spacecraft = airplane. :wink:

Anyone? I know people have tips because there are a lot of space shooters in development.

I might post up a space starter kit.

That sounds neat but what kind of a space starter kit?

like an arcade space shooter, if so there are a ton of tutorials around that pretty much teach you how to do that anyway but that is why I wasked what kind. Maybe a 3rd person shooter space starter kit?

What kind of features would you include if you do go ahead with it?

Are you still going ahead with this idea?

Im reading this wondering though, if a Space shooter was what the OP had in mind? Now aday with Sims games as popular as they are, im wondering if maybe this was a confused genre? So …

Space sim? or space shooter?

Space shooters are relatively simple, im designing one right now, and of the many different types of game play i have toyed around with so far, space shooter is by far the simplest i think.

Anyways, let us know if it was sim or shooter.

EDITED … actually , im actively seeking one or two people to help out , so if your looking to learn how, maybe contact me.

Yeah, I meant a space sim. I have found a lot of space shooter (arcade style 2d) tutorials, but no space sim tutorials. I’m still going to go ahead with it. I’m not sure when I can start working on it. It won’t be soon though. I’m currently working on a project, so when I’ve collected all the necessary scripts and get new models, I’ll start working on it. Basically it’ll have:

  1. Models (for testing)
  2. Scripts for starship
  3. Several skyboxes (or space boxes)
  4. Interactive environment
  5. Audio
  6. Combat scripts
  7. Simple enemy AI scripts

That’s a lot to work on, but when I have my free time during this project, I’ll try to get it done.

That sounds good to me =]

There was one project on an older version of Unity… here it is Pheonix Final the developer included source code looked cool…
