I have to get a couple things running elsewhere before I can concentrate on Unity work again, and have been looking for relevant help in other places. Everybody, including me, seems to love these Unity boards. Is there any similar environment out there, dedicated to Actionscript, where I might be able to find similar fast response times from knowledgeable/helpful people? I have tried actionscript.org, but found it to be pretty pitiful.

You might check out the Flashcoders mailing list. I know, it’s not a forum but it may still prove as useful as you hope. It’s been a while since I’ve been a lurker and regular reader on that list though so I’m not sure what the signal-to-noise ratio is these days.
I’d try the Adobe forums (amazingly enough).
They appear to be one of the good things Adobe got from Macromedia. On occasion I’ve gotten very useful information from them.
