Unity UI Health Bar UI question

Hello all,

This is my first post. I’ve been lurking for quite a while trying to learn Unity. Right now I’m trying to learn the UI elements. I know “HOW” to do health bars but I want to kind of customize one.

I want to make one like the game Fallout.

I am assuming the best way would be to use a UI Mask? To be honest I’m just starting out learning the UI system. I know this is probably a pretty easy problem for most. I’ve been searching google all night trying to find an answer.

So would a mask be best? Just have it work from right to left and cover the hash marks? Or would it be better to have some sort of code actually generate the hashes?

I do apologize for the noobish question, but I certainly appreciate any advice.

I’d simply use a slider. Use a tiling texture on the image component of the slider.
