Unity3D 2D Platformer Tutorial - Series

Hello, today I would like to announce a new Unity learning series. This series is a set of tutorials, teaching the basics of Unity, UnityScript and teaches how to create a 2D Platformer. The series is planned to be 50 episodes, then I will let the viewers decide the next series.

I forgot, to say, the next video we will work with the GUI so they react to Input, and then we will program the player health, along with a GUI.

Good to see a person making videos on 2d platformers. I’m in the process of fixing up some basic 3d models for prototyping. So I’ll check out your videos.

You do understands that this is a 3d platformer, not a 2d platformer… it changes everything…

The definition of 2D and 3D these days depends on the play mechanic, not the visuals. This is because all games are rendered with 3D hardware.

I would have thought this was logical.

I always refer to these games as 2.5d. As it’s a 2d game in a 3d world.
