i just wanted to know what type of games are reigning(popular) in the mobile game market currently and what kind of games are popular and can be developed solo and would earn downloads?
what are people in the mobile market playing?
please share and if you have examples or references we can go check out please do post.
Most likely, question addressed to people who develop such games. And most likely, they will not share their foundings, doe to competition breathing on their neck 
Other than that, go to any mobile store, and check, what is most popular, if you want to go that route.

Popular game types/genres have little to do with popularity of individual games. There’s endless numbers of knock offs of popular game types which get little to no traction.

Much of that video is on promotion, which is really what matters IMO. The video also predates the Google Playstore discovery algorithm apocalypse, making promotion even more important than before. You’ll be more successful promoting a game from an unpopular genre than you will be making a game in a popular genre without promotion.
Sure, I don’t think there’s any hard and fast answers. Like just about anything you have to put in the work, and you have to do so intelligently (and like any venture, be it writing a book or starting a business, there’s an element of luck too).
Multiple sites cliam that the most popular games are PUBG, Fortnite, Clash of Clans, Minecraft, Pokemon Go and so on.

This information, however is not necessarily trustworthy and even if it is, it will not help you in any way. Because by trying to copy someone else’s success you’re likely to create an inferior product which will forever remain in shadow of original.
