Why can’t I create a sprite from a texture? Instead, it has a default icon, and the textures themselves always remain small even at the highest magnification.
Absolutely nothing helps to solve the problems, I even deleted all versions of unity and Unity Hub. I deleted all unity-related folders in ProgramFiles and in \AppData\Roaming\Unity, as well as here \AppData\Local\Unity and here \AppData\LocalLow\Unity. I even deleted the keys in the registry of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unity and completely reinstalled everything, but nothing helps!
Sprites are not displayed and no solution, which is very few in the forums, helps to solve the problem. In the Select Sprite mode, there is also nothing but default icons.
This is definitely a bug, one I have seen from time to time.
You should file a bug the proper way (Help → Report A Bug)
To solve it and return actual useful functionality to the sprite picker, you might try a reimport all.
Correct, but it also definitely USED to work and should work even today. I tested it now in Unity2018 and Unity6000 and I get visible sprites when picked this way.
No, you’re wrong, here’s the normal behavior in the screenshots, when each texture has a sprite that looks the same as the texture itself. Also note the slider at the bottom, which shows how the sprites look at maximum, medium, and minimum magnification. And this is how Sprite Select works when you can see which sprite to choose.
I asked for help, but I probably wrote to the wrong place and was told that technical support is only available for Pro subscribers. I’ll try to do as you recommend, thank you!
