sure they wouldn’t mind having it for android, but that does not need them to buy it.
also, even at worst day, google would be worlds better than if adobe, autodesk or apple bought UT
The only acquisition I feel iffy about was Sketchup. It’s fantastic that they opened it up to everyone for free, but the updates dropped off dramatically. It feels like it’s barely supported, let alone actively developed.
I doubt Unity would end up like that, though.
Sketch-up is pretty solid as is imo. I think the updates tapered off because there was less and less to do.
I will say one thing though, if I ever become a serial killer, it will be because Sketch-ups camera controls drove me to it.
I really hope this doesn’t happen. Google has the worst taste ever. Everything they do is so ugly.
Agreed. I even tried it with the SpaceNavigator and it was junk.
Well, they could always release an iPad version. That would be kind of cool.
no… ![]()
Hurray
What happend to scorggle
I like Unity being independent but Google or Apple could invest money ![]()
UT can raise funds themself as they have proofen with the 5M injection last year ![]()
Console support will definitely drive that forward.
In addition, UT has now started to make Pro much more attractive through the Pro addons for mobile platforms and the new great features that are Pro only (all non-basic Beast features, Umbra, deferred rendering, …)
I don’t think David and the other UT guys will sell their own dreams right now. Neither later. ^^
Google has reportedly purchased Jambool and its virtual currency payments product Social Gold for as much as $75 million.
Jambool is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2006 by Amazon.com veterans Vikas Gupta and Reza Hussein. Last October, it launched Social Gold as an online payments and virtual currency platform that players could integrate into their free-to-play MMOs, virtual worlds, casual online games, and social games/applications.
I really hope not. After this Google is officially completely evil.
I don’t really see anything funny.
