[WIP] Installation 01 - The Fan-Made Halo Game for PC

Hey everyone!

Well it’s been a long time since I posted here but I wanted to start a new thread since the old one is heavily outdated and doesn’t reflect the current progress of the game. So here we go!

Installation 01 is a fan-made Halo game being made by Halo lovers working from around the world. We aim to build an artistic tribute to Halo that recreates the multiplayer experience of the Bungie-era games. The game will be free to play on all PC platforms, including: Windows, macOS, and Linux.

We operate very carefully under Microsoft’s Game Content Usage Rules. All of Installation 01’s assets are either created from scratch or obtained through the Unity Asset Store. We currently maintain a level of contact with Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries, which you can read about here: Installation 01 - Friends in High Places

The game is a combination of what we believe to be the best parts of the classic Bungie-era Halo games. While we mostly focus on recreating the Halo 2/3 experience, there are also elements of Combat Evolved and Reach sprinkled in. Features from later 343 Industries Halo games can be enabled in Custom Games, but will not be a part of Matchmaking or official playlists.

This looks awesome.

Does it include some of the advanced techniques like BXR, double shots (RRX), double melee (BLB), or backpack reloading (rrY)?

As much as I am a fan of those combos, the game will be more focused on the gunplay of Halo 3.

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing well. Glad to resurrect this old thread once more.

Installation 01 is looking for new 3D artists and programmers to add to the team so we can work together and push for a goal we promised all the way back in December 2013. If you don’t know about i01, we are a team of passionate Halo fans working to bring a new Halo experience to the PC.
