Your weapon(s) of choice?

Never seen much of a discussion regarding this I feel it’s a pretty important thing to consider so I thought I’d ask.

What input devices do you use?

I use a Logitech K260 keyboard M210 mouse. They’re ok for the price but nothing special, the keyboard sometimes misses letters. I also have a Wacom Bamboo for when I try to be artistic, nice little pen/tablet for what I need it for.

I’m considering upgrading the mouse keyboard given how many hours I spend using them. Would need to be wireless though as I use a USB KVM Switch and only want to take up one USB slot. Any suggestions?

Das Keyboard mechanical keyboard, Steel Series Sensei gaming mouse, XBOX controller, and Oculus Rift. The OR makes me sick, though, so I usually only use and design for Keyboard/Mouse.

On my main workstation I have:

  • Das Keyboard Model S Ultimate Soft Tactile Mechanical Keyboard (quieter than the regular model).
  • Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 Wireless
  • Wacom Intuos3 Medium

I also have a MacBook Pro that I mostly use while docked to a docking station. On that I use:

  • Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 mouse and keyboard set
  • Wacom Intuos3 Medium

My wrist, thumb, and index finger would act up every now and then due to RSI. Using the VerticalMouse and the Microsoft ergo mouse (in addition to wearing a wrist brace while I sleep) helps a lot.

My weapon(s) of choice are:
A random 15 dollar mouse.
And a steelseries headset.

A $1 mouse is good enough. What you need is a 1080p monitor, turtle beach headsets, and an awesome graphics card. Then you will truly immersive yourself in the world of gaming

I’m pretty indifferent about mouses and keyboards. Most important thing is a good seat. I’m thinking of a standing desk setup though. My back is getting enough strain from work as it is and it doesn’t help my PC setup is currently by a fluffy couch. -_-

Next thing in my purchase list is a new Wacom, though. My dog chewed my Wacom pencil so I have a good excuse to buy a whole new tablet.

This is my setup:
DXRacer F-series chaser (got it today and I fkn love it! <3)

Steelseries Apex Raw

And a Anker 8400 DPI mouse from amazon  The buttons on the side allows me to switch between monodevelop and unity ultra fast!! Highly recommend

And a xbox 360 controller

I’m thinking about getting a cheap 50£ wacom tablet

^ But… why :(?

I don’t have any idea what is my keyboard or mouse type is. Not really sure about the tablet too. Are these important?

Can’t stand mouses anymore. Either Cint21UX or the trackpad on my MBP.

mac keyboard for windows and mac. Generic no name mouse :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck playing a FPS with that

Roland A-800PRO Midi Controller

And an Oculus Rift but I haven’t been using it lately. Still need to work on a game for it.

Edit: Also forgot, I have a Leap Motion too.

Surround speakers work way better. I have 9.1 and holy sh*t do games sound awesome. I bought them(albeit a lot of slaving myself) and don’t regret it.

I have a Gigabyte Osmium mechanical keyboard at both home and work, I believe as someone who spends most of my time coding, it’s important to have the same keyboard wherever I sit.

I also keep the same mouse, at home and work. Note the neutral shape of the mouse, as I use the mouse either left or right-handed.

And I even go one step further, I have the same chair at home, that I have at work!

Keeping this synogenous environment IMO maximised productivity.

I feel exactly the same, I don’t like ‘different’ environments. That is kinda why I have given up on the mouse thing. Using the trackpad on my lappy, is pretty much the exact same environment wether in the living room/meeting room desk at work or home or any other random place. Even when I had found a nice mouse I liked, unless I had the same mouse pad or surface it just felt awkward or out of step. Plus a mouse is awkward to use in a park or on the train. I feel a little OCD if my input device is “different” from place to place.

The Cint is a different story though.

The trackpad is no problem, I am as efficient on it as a mouse for an FPS or any game. The cint is, well, pretty much a fail on all counts. Most games don’t support it a useable way. Though it does kick ass for hidden object games.

Agreed, why would someone ever switch to monodevelop?

I’m impressed then

Well… my skill is easily equal with both devices. My actual skill level in an combat type FPS probably wouldn’t impress anyone.
