A feature was removed! Move camera to surface point with MMB

I think that a feature was removed, a very useful one, sometimes when the camera pivot was too far away or in some point that you don’t want, you just needed to click on a surface with the middle mouse button that the camera would automatically frame that point and also change its pivot to that point too, so if you want after that use the “Move To View” the object would appear at that point too. Now it’s not working, I don’t remember if it was double MMB, but it was one of these two commands. Why did you guys removed this?

Ah, so the problem is this: Selection in 3D view - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions

The mouse clicks are not working for me on the scene view! 5.1.3f1 btw.

The description sound like the focus command behind the key “F”.
Never knew that there was a function with the middle mouse button.

Actually, the mmb focus on the surface point that was clicked, not the object selected…

Heh… that is neat. I didn’t know you could do that.

It works for me in 5.1.2p2.

Very useful, isn’t it? I use it a lot, very handy to place stuff on the floor when using it with Ctrl+Alt+F!

Btw, mouse clicks are not working in scene view on some of my projects for some reason (I have no editor scripts, so I’m not messing anything up in the editor), but in another project I tested and everything is fine.

Close/remove the scene view and make a new Scene view.

Hi LaneFox, thanks for replying, it kinda fixed, but there are still some objects that I can’t select, like they were not there and the object behind is being selected instead.

Look at the gif

I’m selecting the cube behind the directional light gizmo, but the ground is being selecting instead.
