In Unity 2020.2.0f1 Area Light Shadowmask are broken. The same scene in 2020.1 looks correct.
I have made a little sample scene to demonstrate this issue.
The only light in the scene is a Mixed Area Light. Shaders are simple HDRP/Lit shaders.
The error is very obvious on the Sphere.
All channels look good, don’t understand why I get this problem.
I have the same issue with a new asset I am working on. I can’t release it until this problem is fixed. :(.
