The app lets you explore the layers of the head from skin, muscle and skeleton down to the inner areas of the brain. By using augmented reality (AR), the user gains an amazing insight into the tissues, structures and areas of the mind by moving the device around the special artwork provided. You can choose to view the mind in AR or switch to a 3D mode within the device and rotate with your fingers.
The three dimensional models are colour coded to provide clear, concise and easy to follow views of the brain. The app provides an advanced and interactive view of the head and mind which is perfect for educational demonstrations, learning at home or just the enjoyment of finding out more about how our inner-selves work.
To use: - Print out the artwork which is available from the developers website. You can print in colour or black and white. - In AR mode, point the device at the printed image. - Switch on and off the various layers - you can animate the brain areas to open and close. - Tap the brain parts to see the labels and read the description.
In 3D Mode: - Rotate by swiping the screen.
All feedback and thoughts for the next versions are very welcome and thank you for taking the time to enjoy our work. We will be releasing more of the AR Anatomy Series in due course.
One thing I like to do with my vuforia app is suggest people just bring image up on screen. That would be good for yours too. People love it pops out of the screen.
The printing off the target is your hard sell. I have my targets on the museum walls and I have had a pretty dissapointing 1000 downloads despite everyone who uses it loving the app.
That’s the only problem with AR, potential customers have not quite grasped the idea of using a target image, thank you for the suggestion though! Will add it to my list of things to do for the next update!!
I have got a couple of negative reviews on the android version for a couple of people who couldn’t grasp the idea of using an image. It also has a physical gallery of the artwork in the museum.
One of the huge issues with anatomy apps (not just yours, but in general) is they aren’t allowed in anatomy labs because of laws against using devices with cameras.
I have one definite with the museum which takes it to a whole new level and I am currently neg. with a different museum to provide them with an interactive gallery of similar nature (but not minecraft themed).
Realistic ones We have partner museums overseas, so this would be a very good exhibit for a swap as it is easy to move.
We have a marsyard (which I have unity game i made out the front of it) and a museum wanted to take our entire Marsyard including the 20 tons of material in it!!!
