Build triggering AVG IDP.Generic Virus warning

Recently my builds cause this warning (game.exe … IDP.Generic detected) to pop up from AVG, and it completely removes the .exe file of my game. Is there anything I can do about this?

As you may know, 'IDP.Generic’ refers to a file which appears to exhibit the same behavior as known malware. AVG say that the first step is to ensure that your anti-virus software and definitions are fully updated then perform a threat scan. If the problem persists, contact AVG with the full details.

Thanks,Ill try downloading some malware scanners.

I ran several AV scans and uploaded my .exe to totalvirus.com, all green, no viruses or malware found. Is the next step to cantact AVG then? :S

It’s likely a false positive. I stumbled across some posts where people had issues running legit programs due to this warning:

Here’s a form - provided by AVG - where you can submit your file(s):
https://www.avg.com/en-us/false-positive-file-form

Have you tried adding your .exe to the Exceptions list?

If I am getting this message of idp.generic while executing a program, is it the same malware?

idp.generic was already explained in this thread:

same error on my game’s build do you by any change use mirror for networking as my game does:eyes:

I have found a fix for IDP generic caused due to AVG or Avast. idp generic is caused due to outdated software files of Avast or AVG, updating it to the latest version will help it to solve the issue.

Thank for info.

The maximum weight you can send to fix the false positive on the AVG web report page is… 50 mb. Seriously AVG??
