Come on guys this thread is totally unfair, I almost went down memory lane and that’s a lot of old gaming to cover

Back in 2004 casual developers were advised to make games 5 -10MB and use DirectX 7.0 only. I remember how people on Dexterity forums were obsessing about optimizing PNG files and the like.

Around that time the web development company I worked for was pushing to keep individual page sizes below 56kb, images included.
