error while importing package:couldn`t descompress package

hello my name is frank and I’m starting to use the unity 3d.estoy creating a project and download the package ground of unity page … and I get this error while Importing package: could not decompress package … when i assests-import package-custom package … if you can tell me what steps to do it right … thanks

The package is most likely corrupt, try re-downloading. Try importing another package or a package from the Standard Assets. Have you got enough disk space?

If all packages give the same error I’d suggest installing Unity. Also check permissions.

The problem IS the NAS!
Copying the same package to a local drive en then importing goes fine.

uninstall the program, and i install … for download several times the package … and I feel the same. ¿¿¿

I have the same problem: “Error while importing package: Couldn’t decompress package”.

My project is on a NAS server (QNAP) which doesn’t use a Windows Filesystem. Unity apparantly has a problem with this. If I create a local project I have no problems.
This is a bug!

Workaround is to create a local project, import package and manually copy the assets to to the NAS project.
