Finally!!! How to get INSTANT notification when your asset gets a new review!

Disclaimer: smarter, more clever people might have already figured this out. But it’s news to me!

How To: Get Instant Notification of New Reviews on your Asset Store Product
(or, how to not get blindsided by angry/misinformed/confusing/genuine issue, etc reviews)
(or or, how to pimp your Customer Service and solve issues right away, leading to really happy users)
~

Step 1: Create an “IfThisThenThat” account (www.ifttt.com")
IFTTT is awesome! You’ll immediately think of a billion other uses for this service…but holdup pardner, let’s concentrate on this first

Step 2: Get your Publisher RSS Feed Link
Go to your Publisher Account Info Page (Unity ID)
Scroll down to the bottom, and copy the “RSS Feed” link

Step 3-A: Use this super-handy “recipe” that I already created: http://ift.tt/1fXE6Fb
Be sure to paste in your own RSS feed link (which we just copied in Step 2, above)!

Step 3-B: Or, create your own recipe
Just choose “RSS” as the “Trigger
Paste in your RSS feed link (copied in step 2, above)
Set the “Action”- this could be almost anything you like! Text, Email, Phone Call, Twitter, Facebook, you name it…

~~
I hope this helps someone else, finding that RSS feed link literally made me do a lil’ happy dance! Linking with IFTTT just makes it even better. It’s an incredibly useful ability, being able to respond instantly to unhappy, confused, or knowledge-seeking users. Makes everyone happier, hurray!

Very interesting… I’m going to have to try this out!!

(though WHY Unity doesn’t add this feature themselves is just… ???)

I’ve been using Feed2Mail, but this looks nice! Haven’t heard of IFTTT until today, sounds pretty awesome.

All I really want is a checkbox that says “Email me when new review is posted”… however, this is even better! I love getting a text right when the review comes through, so I can ninja-rope in and repair troubles, or at least respond, right away. And really, IFTTT has a dizzying array of possible uses…

Ah the magic! Thanks for sharing!

I finally just set this up. Now I just need some… reviews…

Welcome! This has been invaluable for me, glad it’s helping others.

Resurrecting the thread.
2 years have passed, and this topic hasn’t been pinned yet! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you find any alternative solutions in the meantime?

Maybe now I can push some buttons :stuck_out_tongue:
