How to explain this shadow difference between editor and build

I’m trying to save performance on shadows, reducing their quality everywhere around HDRP. And it was going ok, until I did something, that caused a strange difference in shadows between editor and build cases.

The shadow in the editor:

It’s blurred, but ok.

But then I made a build, and the same shadow looks differently:

It’s there, but barely seen. I suspect it might have been replaced by contact shadow, but contact shaddows are actually darker.

Then, while still in the build, after this orc unit moves, the shadow suddenly reappears. Here’s a video:

See? The shadow like in the editor appears in the end of this gif. Could anyone explain what might be going on here?

The mystery of the disappearing shadow was solved by me when I remembered that there’s a small area of light probes, and in editor the shadows are ok inside that area, and in a build that area shows different shadows, but when units leave that area, the expected shadow replaces the queer shadow.

Currently I’m lacking knowledge of how the light probes supposed to be treated to get the most out of them, but in case anyone would shed some light on why do probes change shadows in a build, it would be curious to know.
