I can’t imagine how AI got stuck at something like this, because from your detailed description it seems really simple. Are you sure you are prompting correctly?
Each AI behaves differently depending on the one you use, so learning how to prompt each system effectively requires knowledge and experience that take long time to develop.
My advice is before asking AI to make this game maybe you should try to ask it for guidance about advice on how to make better prompts to AI, about prompting on how to make this game.
One step at a time, same way that you put your shoes on every day.
I strongly recommend you DO NOT use chatbots (what some people mistakenly call “AI”) for this. Chatbots generally won’t help you, and they will all the while simultaneously be giving you the impression that it is helping you, all while leading you astray.
Two steps to tutorials and / or example code:
- do them perfectly, to the letter (zero typos, including punctuation and capitalization)
- stop and understand each step to understand what is going on.
If you go past anything that you don’t understand, then you’re just mimicking what you saw without actually learning, essentially wasting your own time. It’s only two steps. Don’t skip either step.
Step #2 is particularly critical when learning.
If you are unwilling or unable to do Step #2, just ask someone else to do the whole game for you.
