Idle animation sinking into ground over time

Im really having trouble tracking this bug down:)

Over time, the idle animation for my deer sinks lower and lower into the ground. Its only the idle animation. The character controller doesn’t move, neither do the Y positions of any elements. Its like the idle animation itself is shifted down.

It only happens with this one animal. I can’t see any difference in the components or in the animation settings. root motion is off.

My only clues so far:
It happens when in use FinalIK Quadruped grounder. If I don’t use it the sinking never happens. But all my animals use it and its only this one, and only the idle.
It happens when I switch to the animal repeatedly (you can shape change into many animals). My script moves the animal position, and snaps it to the terrain

Im going to keep investigating, but does anyone have any ideas to help me go in the right direction?

Go to the prefab of the animation. In the inspector you need to change Rig > Animation Type, set the bones, and press Apply. When it’s a person you need to change it to Humanoid. If it’s a animal I’m not sure, but there are a few options. Take a look at how they are set up in animations that do work. The idle animation must be of an animal and not of a human because the bones are arranged differently.
