InGame purchases: Consumables v Non-Consumables for in-game Currency

hi

I’ve seen a few debates about whether or not in-game currency, used to puchase in-game items, should be a consumable or non-consumable product?

I have mine at the moment (unreleased) as non-consumables, because I thought you had to for in-game currency.

What do others do?

I took a look at an example - Temple Run 2… their ‘In Game Coins’ are consumables, so if this is not allowed supposedly (saw a post on stack overflow), then how can they do it?

Edit: here are apple’s guidelines that don’t mention in-game currency not being allowed. So now I’m more confused! InApp Purchase Guidlines

Thanks

In-game coins → consumables.
If not, the user can buy i.e 1000 coins for $0.99, then press “restore purchases” and recieve a thousand more.

Additional levels/cars/characters/weapons etc. are non-consumables.

Yes, good point. I’ll ignore the warnings on other sites then that the app could get rejected for in-game currency.

As always:
Apple’s official guidelines > some random warning on a 3rd party forum:)
