iPhone 5C 5S - Thoughts

So what does everyone think about the new iPhones? Is this the end of apple domination you think?

I have to say I have an iPhone 4S and a galaxy S3 (only for testing crap)… and I hate android. But it’s personal taste I guess.

I’ll be getting the 5S just for testing purposes only as I don’t have a 16:9 device yet.

Yeah, my phone contract has ended so I may as well get the phone, rather than the ipod.

I like the 5C, although the price is too close to the 5S. But the 5C would be a better test device as the lower spec is better for performance checks. If it runs well on the lesser device, you can be pretty certain it will work on the faster machine, but not the other way round.

But you will need the 5S to test OpenGL ES 3.0 in the future.

Lucky for me I’ve been collecting iPhones and iPods since day one :stuck_out_tongue: Only one I don’t have lately is the 3G (gave it to relative)… But my testing shows that if my game runs on an iPod 4 then iPhone 3G is fine in terms of memory etc (I HATE ipod4). Same for my iPad1 - runs on that runs on everything.

I am amazed how much shit this keynote is getting from the public and media.

everyone declaring this is the end, apple faltered. Jobs legacy is over. Saying the innovation is dead. Time to switch to android. Theres been so many videos on youtube making fun of it.

I really don’t get it, for an S release it’s seems pretty substantial.

I really don’t get the extreme anti-apple hate. People seem to literally be just sitting in bushes waiting for any little thing to overblow, or misunderstand, at the expense of Apple, almost like it’s a contest. It’s like an entire ecosystem and subculture in and of itself.

Because I think the average person is wanting more now than what’s just under the hood. They’re bored with apple. There might be improvements on the inside, but the average jo doesn’t see that nor appreciate/care. (It’s the same with games actually. They don’t give two hoots what tech drives the game)

What more is any other phone doing? Being a tablet?

I don’t know, it’s just the way I’m reading things on the net from people (and what I hear from my partner lol.) The android os also seems to be more appealing (to my partner anyway), but I don’t get that - i actually find it annoying and cumbersome.

Well having to support 64 32 bit versions of iOS is a bit of a monkey wrench…

iPhone C stands for cheap compared to the S version, or like Ippokratis said, there i an ipod 5.
from my point of view, anything other than Apple is just disappointments and waste of money,
there are many good phones out there of course, but its cost is closer to the iPhone.

also if you target is to test things out, it’s a good idea to have a mid-end performance phone too, so you can know you limitation :smile:
