Is HDR output on Super Retina displays supported?

Newer iPhones, that have a Super Retina display, claim to have real HDR output support. Can Unity output HDR to these screens, using URP?

The answer is no. There is only HDR output for console, and perhaps PC, using the latest Unity with a compatible renderer: Unity - Manual: High dynamic range

It’s not just iPhone. New Android devices also have HDR10. I just found out by surprise Unity still has no support for it after testing on my new device. Sadly, Unity lacks behind the tech and nobody can make use of the expensive hardware …

It’s really frustrating to see color banding on a high resolution HDR10+ OLED display. So much potential wasted.

Any updates on this? I may hope that this page is out of date?

I’d expect HDRP and URP to have HDR output…
