Model Stuck in T-Pose But Still Moving

I made a low-poly model in Maya, rigged it, and exported it as a .fbx into Unity. I went through the motions of setting the Animation Type to Humanoid and configuring the joints on the model however when I applied a Mixamo animation to it, it is stuck in the T-Pose but still rotates slightly according to the animation.

For example, this is a model I made with Autodesk Character Creator. I have applied a Mixamo animation on it’s Animator Controller. For the most part, it works.

My problem. This is a low-poly model I made in Maya. I applied the same Mixamo animation but it does not move in the same way as the previous example.

I am not exactly sure what the problem is. As I don’t have much experience rigging models, I assume the problem might be related to that. I just find it strange that the model still moves but at the same time…doesn’t move. Any advice on how to solve this would be well appreciated!

So I think I’ve identified the problem. There are missing gameObjects that can’t be found in the animation. The only reason why my low-poly model rotates slightly and nothing else is because those are the only components in the animation that are not missing. I think if I can reconfigure the animation to fit with the joints on my model I should be good.

Ok I fixed the problem by just taking the easy way out. Mixamo.com has an Upload Character button that can be used to upload your own fbx files. I uploaded my low-poly man into a running animation, downloaded it and tested it in Unity. At the bare minimum my low-poly model can now use Mixamo animations and for that much I am happy.
