Monitor Unity Log Externally?

Hi there,
Unity itself keeps crashing. I am going to update tonight ( I think I am one version behind), but I am wiondering, can I monitor the log of Unity externally, so that when it crashes, I may have an idea of the cause?

Thank you

The log is located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data_\Unity\Editor\Editor.log

For Mac its listed as…
macOS ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Editor.log

However, My Logs file does not contain a Unity file.

Is it best to update Unity?

No Help here?
Very frustated in that I can not seem to isolate the crash. Unity itself closes so I can not monitor the console at all.

Hi,
I just installed 5.6. I was hoping this would address my missing Editor.Log. However it is not there, how do I install this?

To find the log file, use the drop-down on the top right of your console and select “open editor log”.

I seem to remember that it’s somewhat random where it’s placed on a mac.
