[MWU] Simulator Survivors -- fast-paced survivors-like w/o interruptions

This game happened by accident.

I was giving myself two weeks to build a game with Unity that I would thereafter port to LunyScript as a way to eat my own dogfood.

Then it turns out that with a little code assistance by AI (Gemini, free version) and a lot of polish in the third week I created something that’s really fun to play. Should I … continue with it? I have sooo many ideas …

The first DevLog:

The game follows the auto-shooting approach of Survivors-like but it doesn’t constantly interrupt the play while runs last for 5-10 minutes. The loot you collect very frequently improves four selected skills, and it all becomes about navigation ever tinier spaces between enemies while still collecting all the loot - because it’s your only chance to survive! Yet greed is what gets you killed.

The 3D assets are 100% Synty, the animations are 100% IK and (only in hindsight) intentionally whacky. Several systems were sourced from Gemini (free version .. prompting ‘give me a day night cycle script’ or ‘help me create a spawn wave system’) and subsequently improved. The audio is all me and my microphone plus Audacity, the look-dev was also AI assisted along the lines of “You can make it look more organic with light cookies to create a cloudy atmosphere.” and “To get the low-poly, organic look of blood, try these material settings …” and I just followed through for the most part.

What do you think?

Should I aim to publish this on Steam and make a fortune ie $347 a month (gross, of course)?

“YOU ARE FINE…”

My thoughts exactly!

I compiled a “Best of Deaths” video because it’s so satisfying to watch:

Cool .. I just noticed the thumbnail time is 13:37 :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Posted a DevLog. I’m having too much fun with this … here’s for hoping there’s some gamers out there who share and value the same in a game.
