No organization yet?

I was using Plastic in the past, and I am trying to set it up on a new project in 2022.3. I get an error in the console about ‘Unknown user’ and so I downloaded the Mac client. I am able to sign in with my Unity ID but it says “No organization yet” and the button to create one just takes me to the Dev ops page with no way to add anything. “No Unity Version Control organization yet You need a UVCS organization to start working with repositories.” I get the same Unknown user error in my old project that I was using Plastic with previously.

can you open a ticket at devops-vcs-support@unity3d.com?
Please let us know your email.

Have you already created a UVCS organization?

Thanks, I was able to get it corrected with a ticket.

Same Issue here. It does not appear possible to create a Unity Version Control organization that can be linked to the project.

There are multiple websites and multiple account configurations needed to set up Unity Version Control, and my team and I are not able to get it to work. My team member cannot get the Hub (Version 3.5.2) to find a remote project that I have created and attempted to set up for version control collaboration.

It appears you need all of the following to use Unity Version Control:

  • Unity ID

  • Unity Project ID (Seen in both the Unity Dashboard online and in Unity Editor Project Settings > Services)

  • Unity Organization

  • Unity Version Control Organization

The Unity Version Control Organization page at Unity Cloud shows the message

No Unity Version Control organization yet
You need a UVCS organization to start working with repositories

However there it offers no option, button, or link to create one, nor to attach the project to an existing organization.

On the other hand, the page at https://service-store.unity.com/your-info does show the organization, but says that the organization already has the Unity Version Control product!?!?

So if the organization has the product, why does the product say it has no organization?

Hi @JeffreyBennett_1 , can you open a ticket at devops-vcs-support@unity3d.com?
Please let us know your email and organization name.

Have you already created a UVCS organization (not a Unity organization)?

I’m guessing if you could have a DevOps subscription but you may not have yet created the UVCS organization.

I sent an email to DevOps support, but just want to mention that I’m having the same problem. Here’s the main part of the email I sent, but with the images cut out. Just in case it leads to a quicker answer for me/other people.

(Btw, I did today create a DevOps account, a Unity organization, and a UVCS organization. Also, my current source control is still working fine, I just can’t access any of the admin pages or similar online tools.)

I have an old Plastic SCM account. I was attempting to add a new user, and was surprised to see that I could no longer access my account at the old page here:

I attempted to find another path to get to the pages I need. Weirdly, I can see my old projects here, but can’t access them in any way:

Those both appear to be old pages that are possibly no longer used, and what seems to be intended is to use the Unity DevOps page instead (Unity Cloud). However, on that page it appears that my projects/workspaces do not exist… I had to create a “new” organization, and now it asks me to create a new repo.

How can I get access to my old account so that I can e.g. add users? Is it possible to recover my old account information and get everything hooked up again without losing anything?

Did you get the response via the support ticket? Can you update the result/conclusion?

I did get a reply, but when I replied to that email, it seems like he didn’t get my latest response. I’ve now added another response on the support ticket page (https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/requests/1684478), which will hopefully be more visible.

I can see my coworker has already handled it. I will check if I can help with something.

Same issue here. I have already followed the link you proposed (Unity Version Control (Previously Plastic SCM) - Fast VCS | Unity → Start for free.)

I can use the version control just fine. I just cannot see the dashboard with my projects and usages.

Please open a support ticket with us so we can debug what could be the problem.

After a bit of back and forth, support resolved my issue. In brief, I had to:

A) Create a new account in the source control client:

  • Click on View Repositories…
  • Click on your email address at the top right
  • Click on Add new account

B) Copy over my repo to the new account via the instructions here: https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/articles/4773885917204--Cloud-Transfer-a-repository-from-one-Organization-to-another-

Hopefully this will help others with the same problem get it figured out a bit faster. It’s a bit of a pain, but seemed to work out okay for me at least.
