I’m probably missing something obvious here, but for some reason when I got to the Animation panel to edit an animation, I’m unable to do anything. I can’t drag sprites onto it, the record button is greyed out and the drop down to create a new clip is not working. I also can’t add a property or see a preview. I tried in unity 2018.4.18 and 2019.3.5f and both do this.
Is there a setting somewhere I’m missing?
I don’t know if this is the problem, but you have to select an object on the scene when in the animate panel (it’s how I do it) or create a new animation with the menu (same way you create a script, or a material) and then open it.
Thanks for the reply. I am selecting an animation and I can see the key frames. The problem is I can’t add to it, or record or anything with that. The only way I can currently create any animations is to drag a set of sprites into the inspector and then it creates a new controller and everything. What I need is to be able to edit existing animations and create new ones.
This is what the animation panel looks like. I can’t click any of the buttons and the drop down doesn’t work.
Ok Sorry you are right. I didn’t realise, the object had to be selected which I wanted the animation to apply to. I thought it was enough to have the object selected from the assets panel. Thank you so much!
