Persistent Error with Unity Version Control (SCM)

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to the technical support forum regarding a long-standing issue I have been facing with Unity Teams (SCM).

For years now, I have been encountering a recurring error window that persists despite changing both my computer and project. It has become a frustrating problem that I have been unable to resolve on my own.

Error text:
“An existing checkout operation has locked the workplace. Please wait for the checkout operation to finish.”

(video)

Unity 2021.3.27f1 (happened with me on 2020, on 2022)
Version Control 2.0.4 (Upgrading to 2.0.5 not solving the issue)

I work on the project alone and there’s no existing checkout operations are going as I’m pushing once a month.

The error window consistently disrupts my workflow, and I am eager to find a solution to finally overcome this issue. I have tried various troubleshooting steps, but none have proven successful thus far.

Only spamming the Checkout button helps. But it takes a lot of effort and time.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide to help me resolve this problem.
Thank you for your attention and support. I look forward to your prompt response

Hi, we have a task planned for the following days/weeks to debug this problem.

If you can easily reproduce the problem, could you temporarily invite some of us to the project to debug the problem and be sure it’s the same scenario we already have tracked as an issue?

Unfortunately, i cannot be a part of this test. I’m all in into development.
Can you provide ETA when this problem will be fixed? Because i cannot use service that I’m paying for.

If this issue is cannot be resolved, then I would like to ask for monetary compensation as this service is broken. And days are counting without any resolution or communication from dev team.

It will be the default version in upcoming new Unity Editor releases, but in the meantime, you can already upgrade using the Package Manager. Version 2.0.7. Please let us know if it helps.

Anyway, if there is some problem you are facing with the Unity package, you can always use the Plastic SCM standalone app as a temporary workaround.
