That’s quite impressive! Looks great and has a good feel, and it’s fun with quite a bit to do even with what you have so far. My only real complaint is the camera, which must be manually adjusted at all times, which is a bit of a drag. Getting the camera to behave nicely in a 3D action game like this is not easy though. A secondary complaint is that there’s no reason to tie this to the Xbox 360 controller…that’s only one controller of many, and it worked fine with mine (not a 360 controller), so I think it would benefit from being more generic in that department. Although I had one problem with not being able to select items since I could only make the item selector point straight left or right; not sure if that has to do with the controller or if it was just a bug. Anyway, very nice and polished work overall.
agreed we had planned for a feature ( and also started to implement it but didnt get to it because of time constraints)
where we would read out your gamepad driver name and than have a database of 20 or so worlds favorite pc game pads and than rebind the controls automatically to fit that controls layout and swap the textures on all the tool tips etc too … but we didnt get around to it even though i would have loved it to be in there ! cause i am a game-epad junkie on the pc and usually games( commercial retail games too) dont give us a lot of love !
simply awsome! i saw this project like a year ago and was allready wondering what happend to it great to see this!
playing it now for more than 30minutes great stuff man!
But even without getting a chance to test your game I must say it looks awesome
EDIT:
1st thing I noticed is when I mounted the DMG file, I thought that the face (app icon) was part of the background image. I’d maybe tone down the BG a little bit in the installer
Congratulations, it has awesome graphics(I like such style very much), very funny story and gameplay, but as Eric5h5 said the camera needs to be more smartened.
Good Luck
Congratulations for your work so far.
A lot of potential for making a good game.
Two things by the way, i find the Hero character not totally fitting with the world…well it’s a personal opinion, the second thing is the scale consistency between the Hero and other objects/NPCs in the world, the Hero seems very very small in comparison to some.
Anyway, this is all details and your prototype is brilliant for far.
all hand made i did 2 cuts where i want the shadow transition and moved the verts apart the further the casting object s from the shadow to fake a growing penumbra … was a metric shit ton of work ! and all because unity2.6 didn’t have lightmaps and dynamic shadows were too expansive on the performance !
i am glad people notice and appreciate ^^ … because it is really alot of work !
Very nice!! Is it possible you could share with us where you got your knowledge on how to use unity so well? or jsut your learning expericane :P? thanks alot!
This game is fantastic, excellent work! A fun story, interesting characters and great artwork! Unfortunately I didn’t have time to finish the game, but I will have to go back and work on my ninja skills when I have more time!
