Discord is here, but I prefer Unity Discussions.
Yes but the support is gone now after the changes to the structure. Impossible to get help from unity staff or other people.

Switching to Discord isn’t going to solve anything. Out of almost everyone helping that I knew by name none of them liked Discord as it’s almost impossible to find anything making any long term or large discussions and support nearly impossible. Switching to another forum is also just as unlikely to be helpful as most communities aren’t specific to just Unity. You might see some benefit from Reddit but those communities tend to be just showcase and other low effort spam. Basically this site is it for Unity.

I agree, Unity discord is mostly for wasting everyone’s energy. Specially when comes to community driven technical support in such large scale. Unable to search effectively, or follow topics actively discussed topics. People repeat same questions over and over, instead looking for existing answers.
Reddit is indeed mostly karma hunting. People don’t tend to read others responses. Just to write their own, hoping for someone to like it.
At least forum allows easily to redirect to existing topics, even if same topics been already discussed. Historically these are preserved, even after Unity forum migration (mostly) and allow search engines to find answers.
Mostly generic answers are already there, on the Internet. No need to wait for others to reply. Just need to learn how to search. This is more important skill than anything. Specially during early development learning process. But later too.
