I start a host, and my friend tries to join as a client using my public IP address and port, but it won’t connect. My firewall is allowing the game too. What may be the reason?
Huh. My local IP is 192.168.* and I’m not in North America at all, but the one you’re using does indeed seem to be your local IP. As far as I know, the way you’re doing it is supposed to work: your connect address is local, you forward the port correct, and the other player tries to connect to your public IP, so I’m at a loss here.
Thanks for trying anyway… The thing that bugs me the most is that once the server is open I try to use this tool in order to check if port 7777 is indeed open: https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
It says that port 7777 is close, while if for example I set my torrent software to work on 7777 it will open this port based on the tool… Almost like the server doesn’t really open but it does work locally if I open the game two times and use one as an host and one as a client
