quest dialogue boxes script

i am now finally in the second part of my game making i have gotten some great help from the scripts page and particularly from videos from VTC.

the only problem is they and almost everyone out there wants to only focus on FPS which is very good but also very simple to do especially with all the tuts out there for that. i want to do this now, to start making the quest for my game.


Yes i have seen the UDE (unity dialogue engine), but I simply cannot afford it. i had to get several programs to get this game working and do updates etc, so i have a very tight budget.

has anyone else perhaps made a script so that these types of quest can easily be implemented?

or has anyone made a tutorial for creating one or more of the following;

  1. inventory
  2. store - buying and selling
  3. quest logs

i want everything to be as simple as possible.

truth be told the scripting need not be any more complex than “Shadowrun” for the snes for any of these proposed implements.

any aid and directions will be greatly appreciated.
