Stay Safe & Try to Use Proper Channels for Collaboration

Use common sense when it comes to engaging with anything on the internet.

Hey everyone,

We want to remind all community members to be cautious when sharing personal or project-related information. There have been instances of spam and unsolicited emails or messages, so please be mindful of who you engage with. One common issue is email and data harvesting, where bad actors collect email addresses, personal details, or other sensitive information, often to send spam, phishing attempts, or sell data to third parties. Sharing your contact information publicly or with any users can put you at risk of unwanted solicitations or scams.

If you’re collaborating with others, try to use the correct channels before taking conversations off-site. Whether you’re seeking assistance, hiring developers, or discussing sensitive details. If you take discussions off-site, consider using a throwaway email or separate handle to protect your personal information.

If you encounter suspicious behavior, report it immediately to keep the community safe.
