hi all. As one of the millions of people who have built ads in to their game using the unity system, I too have made little to no money from the adverts. Also as the amount of money is so little, I can not withdraw the money from the system.
If you think about how many people here have put the Unity Ads system in to their game and are now not able to withdraw the money, and add it all up, you can see exactly WHY unity have done this. The ads are presented to the person playing your game, the advertiser has to pay unity for displaying the advert and Unity will get to keep the money from us and never pay out as the money is too little to be paid to the game designer. I have earned around £2.50 from one of my games. If there are 100,000 similar games to mine out there presenting adverts right now then that allot of FREE revenue for unity. 99% of us will never make any money from our games but Unity will always make money from our games if we put adverts in them.
When you are claiming something with a word scam, you should provide enough evidence to back up your claim. Where is the comprehensive analysis of your games stats (lifetime, fill rates, ecpm, etc.)?
Hello Barry, it’s not a scam.
to cut it short, just implement a few ads system into your game.
rotate the ads each equally. and the end of several months you will know which ones are being tight asses
you then drop the tight asses from your game.
By the way most app stores allow you to have a video so there is no good excuse not to have one. Additionally out of the five screenshots you put up three of them are identical to each other and they don’t show anything different from the screenshots before them.
Withholding the money until a threshold has been reached is completely normal.
You have to remember all bank transfers cost money to make. If they paid everyone that had under 10 bucks then they would most likely lose money. This is the same for all ad services that I know of.
Another day, another developer that doesn’t read, another scam accusation. I’ve seen these posts for over a decade now - it is usually because the developer has no idea how ads work (on any platform).
Lol. General Discussion never disappoints for getting a laugh in the morning.
This is pretty much how every online advertising and profit sharing scheme works. If you take every platform I’ve messed with briefly, the internet owes me a whole 15 dollars.
Make a successful product and put ads in it and you will see real money. For comparison I generally see about $1 per thousand views/plays. So for advertising to work you need your app in front of 100k users. For game dev to be worth you time with only advertising, you need in the order of 5 million plays a month. Focus on getting those numbers first. Then put in ads later.
Im going to add another game to the list of games I currently have out in the next couple of days. I am looking to use a banner advert instead of the video type adverts this time.
To use ads effectively you need an install base like network TV and such have. Businesses conning average consumers into buying ads has got to be one one of the silliest cons ever and the time one spent placing their ads into your work falls into that category.
