The Unity Hub needs a LOT of improvements...

The Unity Editor is amazing… But I wish I could say the same thing about the Unity Hub, It’s lacking a lot of basic features that limit the user from downloading the Unity Editor itself, the features missing are essential for any download hub like: Pause/Resume downloads, not needing to restart the whole downloading process after losing internet connection, not losing all the downloading process when you turn off your PC, download status (percentage, internet speed, approximate time remaining, etc…), better customizability when it comes to downloads, better updates management, and so on… The same applies to download modules and other stuff… The experience with the Unity Hub sucks, and it’s pushing me away from using it (because I can’t download the Unity Editor properly), so it makes me search for another game engine that solves these problems… Thank you for reading, I am looking forward to these improvements.

Hi Toleredge,

Pause/Resume and the ability to split the download Vs. install process (so won’t have to redownload the Editor) are part on the short/mid-term plans for the Hub.

Can you elaborate more on how you would expect to limit select users from downloading the Editor itself? I’m assuming this is for more control over which versions can be used for a given user/project? Or alternatively are you asking about full restrictions to prevent all users from being able to download/install? (i.e. an IT admin deployment style scenario)

Thank you for the feedback,
Daniel
