On June 6th, 2005, Unity 1.0 was officially launched on stage at Apple’s WWDC and the world hasn’t been the same since. As with all new software there was an initial incubation period and in those early days Unity required folks to have a little faith, some faith in the company, some faith in the vision, some faith that the time and energy spent on a new product would result in something positive down the line. That faith was asked of us early employees, that faith was asked of the early adopters of the product, and it is that faith upon which we built this incredible thing called Unity.
Last year we made a bit more noise as the 5th birthday is a bit of a special number as will be the 10th. But I find today, Unity’s 6th birthday, just as special as any other. Unity is an incredible product and an even more incredible experience, and we all play our part in making that happen. It started with David, Nicholas and Joachim hatching the idea that even today drives this company and this community forward. So thank to those three for founding the company we know as Unity Technologies, thanks to all of our staff and to everyone out there using Unity. Together we’re enabling the stuff of dreams and I find that incredibly exciting.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITY!
