Tree with LOD doesn't support Wind / Bend in Terrain editing

I can’t be the first person to notice this issue:

I made a tree with the Unity Tree Editor, created some LOD meshes for it in an external program and assigned them to it with a LOD component. On the prefab itself, the wind and LODs work fine together.

Once I assign the prefab to the terrain editor as a tree and paint a load, I notice it doesn’t work. Also once I click ‘add tree’ and select it, the popup doesn’t mention the Bend value which it usually does.

I noticed that you can paint trees that have LODs without wind working, or remove the LODs and the wind will work, but there is no way to do both (!!!)

I have the exact same problem. Did you happen to find a solution?

I encountered the same problem if I use LOD groups. The only solution which I found is using the asset Mantis LOD Editor Pro, which doesn’t use the Unity LOD groups but creates its own LOD groups. But the disadvantage is that this solution does not use crossfading between the different LOD levels, so the trees start to pop, which looks awful in my case.

Having the same problem here. Has anyone found a solution for this yet?
