I’ve been having a lot of trouble booting up Unity 5.6.2f1 to open a project used for modding a game. Every time I try to open it, it gets stuck on the splash screen. I feel like I tried absolutely everything to get it to open. I tried closing it through the task manager, reopening it, restarting my PC, reinstalling the editor, and getting a new license. I also tried 5.6.2p4, but none of the above helped with my issue.
Then I saw some people mention in a different post to delete the temp and library folders. I did that, it looked like it was reimporting everything, but once it was done, it got stuck on the splash screen again. And it doesn’t seem to be a project issue either, because I tried to create a new project, and it just leads me back to the same problem.
However, I tried starting a different project on a different version of Unity (2019.4.9f1), and it seemed to work just fine, so it’s a problem that 5.6.2f1 supposedly has. It’s really frustrating since I need that version of Unity to work exclusively.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?
